Witney – E-bike seized after suspected links to criminal activity
Officers took the bike off the street in Witney and have reminded residents that e-bikes have to meet the legal standards.
In a post on the TVP West Oxfordshire Facebook page, it said: “Officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team have seized an illegal e-bike in Witney today after it was suspected of being linked to criminal activity in the area.

“The bike was identified as not complying with legal requirements for use on public roads. As a result, it has been removed from circulation.
“We’re continuing to proactively target the misuse of e-bikes and other vehicles that may be used to facilitate crime.
“These types of vehicles can pose a risk to both riders and the wider community when used unlawfully.
“E-bikes must meet UK legal standards.
“Illegal or modified bikes can be seized and riders reported.
“If you have concerns about nuisance or criminal use of e-bikes in your area, please report it to us via 101 or online.”
