The U’s have brought in one player so far this summer in free agent Frankie Kent, previously of Scottish side Hearts.

Oxford’s players returned to training last week to be greeted by new head coach Aaron Ramsey who replaced Matt Bloomfield last month.

Meanwhile, League One clubs have remained busy in the window with signings that included acquisitions from Premier League sides.

Jack Wilshere’s Luton Town have secured the services of Kasey Palmer from newly-promoted Hull City.

The midfielder was on loan at the Hatters during the second half of last season, scoring eight goals in 23 games.

Wigan Athletic have signed Hindolo Mustapha on loan from Premier League side Crystal Palace.

The 19-year-old joins after loan spells with German side FC Nuremberg and West Bromwich Albion last season where he only managed two appearances at both clubs.

Newly-promoted MK Dons have continued their push for a storming season on their return to League One with the signing of former Middlesbrough Dan Barlaser on a free transfer.

Barlaser left Boro after his contract expired this summer and reunited with manager Paul Warne whom he worked with formerly at Rotherham United.

The Dons have also acquired 30-year-old left back Cohen Bramall after he left Luton upon the expiry of his contract.

The former Arsenal man played 35 times for the Hatters last season.

Oxford have been linked with the signing of Oxford-born winger Jordan Thomas this week.

The 25-year-old left League Two side Cheltenham Town at the end of last season after his contract expired and has been tipped for a move higher up the EFL.

According to The 72, Thomas is ‘closing in’ on a move to the Kassam after a standout season in Gloucestershire.

Play-off semi-finalists Bradford City have signed a young player from League One rivals Leicester City.

The Bantams secured the services of 21-year-old Henry Cartwright last week from newly-relegated Leicester with whom he had been with since the age of nine but failed to make a senior appearance for the Foxes.

Cartwright had been on loan at Falkirk last season and scored twice in 42 appearances from midfield.

Burton Albion have signed rival striker Matthew Dennis for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old joins from Notts County after scoring 14 goals for the side who won the League Two play-off 3-0 against Karl Robinson’s Salford City.

Dennis fell out of favour in the final couple of months, however, and did not play in any of the play-off fixtures.
