School in London celebrates first ever student to go to Oxford Uni

The student has made history as the first from his Stratford school to earn a place at Oxford University.

Cole Cooper, from Bobby Moore Academy, found out he had achieved three A*s in his A-levels today (August 13).

He will go on to study history and politics at Oxford.

A school spokesperson said to London Now: “Known by all staff for having expansive knowledge, consistently superior test scores and the command of all skills needed to succeed in academics, Cole will read history and politics.

“The entire Bobby Moore Academy community wish Cole the very best and look forward to following his career closely as part of the BMA Alumni.”

The academy says it is its strongest set of KS5 results to date – with more than 22 per cent of grades at A or A*, and more than 23pc of scholars going on to study at Russell Group establishments.

Sarah Donnelly, the school’s principal, said: “Proud does not do justice to how I feel about this cohort.

“So many of our leavers this year have shown dedication, ambition and resilience to leave us after seven years with some of the very best grades and some incredibly exciting destinations.

“We ask all our scholars to build a legacy with us, and I am thrilled to be able to follow each of them as they become young professionals and in time, industry leaders.”

Bobby Moore Academy was founded in 2017.

Other individual success stories celebrated at the Bobby Moore Academy include Raees Umair Nauyeck who achieved three As and also becomes the first scholar to go to Imperial University.
