Sainsbury’s – Man named and charged for Oxfordshire incident

Police were called to a crash at the town’s supermarket in Oxford Road on Monday evening (May 18) but a vehicle had allegedly fled the scene.

It was then later found in Lyne Road, Kidlington where a large police response was called to find and arrest the driver.

More than 10 police cars had blue-lighted to the road with multiple officers pictured swarming a suspect on the floor.

In an update on Thursday afternoon, Thames Valley Police confirmed officers have charged a man.

Hassan Chowdhury, 28, is due to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on July 23.

Chowdhury, of Lyne Road, has been charged with two counts of assault of an emergency worker.

He has also been released on police bail for allegations of driving while unfit through drink, racially aggravated public order and possession of class B drugs.
