Oxfordshire’s best schools to study English and Maths
Grade 9 is the equivalent to an A**, the very best result a student can get, while 5 is a strong grade C under the old system. A grade 7 represents an A.
St Helen and St Katharine in Abingdon topped the table while Tudor Hall School just outside of Banbury came joint first with 98 per cent of pupils achieving grades 9 to 7 (A** to A).
Meanwhile, mixed gender schools d’Overbroecks in Banbury Road, Oxford, saw good results with 91.3 per cent of students achieving a grade five or above in English and Maths.
Gilliotts School in Henley had more than 76 per of students gain grade five or above in English and Maths GCSEs.

Another academy, Didcot Girls’ School in Didcot, also had more than 70 per cent of students achieve this, as well as Langtree School in Woodcote.

The Swan School, in Oxford, had 68.3 per cent of students achieve a grade five or above in their English and Maths exams.
Meanwhile, The King’s School, in Witney, also achieved just over 68 per cent of students.
