Oxfordshire restaurant 1885 Burgers launches at Signal Yard
1885 Burgers is now welcoming customers at Signal Yard on Milton Park, Abingdon, a new social and retail hub.
It follows its earlier success as a food truck, which arrived at the park in 2025.
The new venue offers a larger menu of breakfast options, sandos, loaded fries, and classic handcrafted burgers.
Harry Hadland, founder of 1885 Burgers, said: “Signal Yard felt like the perfect place to grow the business because it’s creating a real destination where people want to spend time.
“Quality has always been at the heart of what we do, from sourcing great local produce to preparing every burger with care.
“Having a permanent restaurant allows us to expand our menu, welcome more customers and continue building the reputation we’ve worked hard to establish.
“We’re excited to become a permanent member of Milton Park’s community and serve those people who work here and those from further afield.”
The restaurant covers 826 sq ft and offers both dine-in and takeaway options.
1885 Burgers is named after the year many believe the modern hamburger was invented.
Mr Hadland’s background as a trained butcher is central to the business.
All the meat is butchered in-house to ensure control over quality and flavour.
The business has already created four new jobs and plans to introduce seasonal specials and new items throughout the year.
The venue adds to Signal Yard’s growing line-up, which includes Apollo Pharmacy, Bros Barbers, Damira Dental Studio, Flex Health Hub, Milton Post Office, and Planted Plates.
A new taproom, Day Release by Tap Social, is set to open on August 7.
Clare Fleet, asset manager of Milton Park at Federated Hermes Real Estate, said: “1885 Burgers is a fantastic addition to Signal Yard and reflects our ambition to create a destination, home to passionate independent retailers that supports both our occupiers and the wider community.
“Harry’s commitment to high quality, local sourcing and outstanding customer service complements the other independent businesses already here, giving people even more reasons to visit Signal Yard and enjoy everything it has to offer.
“Having recently been myself, I can personally recommend The Charlies Chicken Burger to anyone visiting for the first time, it was a great example of the high-quality and delicious food available.”
Benedicts acted on behalf of Milton Park.
1885 Burgers is open Monday to Thursday from 8am to 6pm, Fridays from 8am to 8pm, and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
