Oxford United Under-21s to play against Swindon Town
The match will take place at the Training Centre on Tuesday, August 25.
Oxford United, which includes several under-18 players, is looking to build on last season’s success, when they won the Central League without a single defeat.
The match against Swindon Town marks the beginning of their journey in the newly established Next Wave Championship.
This league, which includes nine teams such as Luton Town, MK Dons, and Bromley, will see each team playing home and away matches.
Play-offs and a grand final will decide the champion.
Despite the new league, Oxford United’s under-21s will also continue to compete in the Central League, aiming to defend their title from the previous season.
Their pre-season preparations included a 1-1 draw with Millwall and a defeat by Swansea City.
The match against Swindon Town will kick off at 2pm.
With the new league structure, the under-21s are set for a busy season, juggling two leagues and the Central Cup.
