The 32-year-old departs the club having made seven appearances since joining in 2024 from Hull City.

Three of those came last season in cup competitions with Ingram facing MK Dons and Sunderland in the FA Cup after featuring earlier in the season against another Premier League side in Brighton & Hove Albion.

The club said upon the move: “Everyone at Oxford United would like to thank Matt for his service and wish him well for the future.”

Ingram’s departure is the first player transfer since new head coach Aaron Ramsey was appointed as Matt Bloomfield’s successor on Tuesday evening.

The U’s are yet to make their first incoming transfer since the summer window opened last week.

Throughout his time in OX4, Ingram played second fiddle to number one goalkeeper Jamie Cumming.

The now-Baggies shot-stopper will compete with Max O’Leary for a starting berth at the Hawthorns or otherwise act as backup.

The High Wycombe-born man played 141 times for his boyhood club Wycombe Wanderers where he began his career before moving permanently to Queens Park Rangers in 2016.

He was loaned out twice whilst with the Hoops to Northampton Town and back to Wycombe before transferring to Hull in 2019 where he played 111 matches.

A brief loan spell to Luton Town came in 2022 prior to his move to the Kassam two years later.

Ingram spent time on loan at Oxford City in 2012/13 where made 17 appearances.
