The scenes were played out in the latest series of Clarkson’s Farm when the the group allegedly broke into the Farmer’s Dog car park on the A40 near Burford.

It was reported at the time of the incident in February 2025 that Thames Valley Police officers were called to help control the crowd.

The travellers, who were not breaking the law, were riding pony and trap riding along the busy road outside his pub.

In the scene, land agent Charlie Ireland phoned the 66-year-old journalist alerting him to the travellers.

Mr Clarkson then got into his car to speak with the group but was met by his partner Lisa Hogan outside who told him not to go.

She said: “Whoa, where are you going? You are not going to the pub. You are not a diplomat and you have a dicky heart.

“Out [of the car]. You’re not going, Jeremy. Come on. Park that car back there now.”

Meanwhile, at the pub, a cameraman from Amazon was filming the events unfold.

Mr Clarkson said: “It soon became apparent that the travellers were using our car park as a base for some kind of horse and buggy racing event on the nearby dual carriageway.”

It was explained that there are laws meaning the travellers can “exercise” their horses on the road and that the pub would remain closed in their presence.

After four hours, the group left the pub and gave Mr Clarkson £150 in cash to repair the damaged lock that was repaired.
