Henley investment firm will sponsor Sue Ryder nurse
Invesco is supporting the South Oxfordshire palliative care hub with £23,000, funding Sue Ryder nurse Lindsey Pitkin.
The donation will help Lindsey continue delivering care and comfort to patients with life-limiting conditions and supporting their families.
Nurse Pitkin said: “At the heart of everything we do is ensuring that our patients and their families can experience dignity, comfort, and peace throughout the most challenging time of their lives.
“In my role, I provide information and advice to patients and their families on pain control and symptom management, help patients to plan their future care, and offer emotional support to all.
“It’s an honour to be able to do that for people in our community in this way.”
Ms Pitkin said: “I am incredibly grateful to Invesco for their generous, continued support, helping us to ensure that no-one faces dying or grief alone.”
Last year, Sue Ryder’s Hospice at Home teams made nearly 59,000 face-to-face visits to patients.
Claire Myers, director of corporate responsibility at Invesco, said: “Sue Ryder touches the lives of so many families who are going through the most difficult time.
“Invesco has supported the charity in a variety of ways since 2007 and is delighted to be able to extend our sponsorship of Lindsey’s role through 2026.”
