Former Prime Minister in surprise visit to Indian restaurant
The politician, who served as leader of the UK from 2019 to 2022, had a meal out at Shah’s Indian Restaurant & Take-Away in Wellesbourne on Tuesday (May 19).
Taking to the social media site Facebook, the team posted several photographs alongside Mr Johnson and told customers about the special moment.
“Look who dropped in for a curry last night,” read the caption.

“We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Boris Johnson to Shah’s yesterday evening.
“Our team was incredibly proud to host him and serve up some of our signature dishes.
“It was a fantastic evening full of great energy, and such a proud moment for the Shah’s family to meet him!
“A huge thank you for visiting! What dish do you think he ordered? Let us know your guesses below!”
Mr Johnson, who lives in Oxfordshire, and his table had Papadoms and Onion Bhajis to start.

The restaurant said that the table then had a Bengal Fish Curry, Lamb Biryani, Boro Chingri and Rice with Peshwari Naan.
Speaking to this newspaper, Abdul Wahid, who owns and runs Shah’s with his brother, Shah Hussain, said: “It was a great honour.
“We had a good laugh and joked about the political situation at the moment.
“I asked him if he was happy to take some pictures after the meal. He was really happy to.”
The family also owns the Indian Queen restaurant in North Oxfordshire near Banbury.
