Cotswold Home honours emergency staff with breakfast club
The Cotswold Home in Burford introduced the Blue Light Breakfast Club on June 29 as a gesture of appreciation for those working in emergency services and supporting roles in the community.
It welcomed serving and retired personnel from the NHS, police, ambulance service, fire and rescue, armed forces, education, and social care sectors, including staff from nearby RAF Brize Norton.
Rares Pop, general manager at The Cotswold Home, said: “We are very grateful for all the hard work our blue light workers do and the commitment they make to our community.
“Often circumstances can be complex and challenging, and this is our way of giving back.”
Guests enjoyed refreshments, conversation, and the opportunity to meet residents, families, and staff in a relaxed setting.
South Central Ambulance Service attended the event, bringing two vehicles and providing the opportunity for residents to find out more about the ambulances and the important work carried by the crews on a daily basis.
The care home also provided goody bags filled with drinks and snacks for guests to take away and plans to make the breakfast club a monthly fixture.
The Cotswold Home, part of Elizabeth Finn Homes, offers residential and nursing care in 51 ensuite rooms and is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.
Built in traditional Cotswold style and part of Bradwell Village, it supports both long-term and respite care needs.
Elizabeth Finn Homes is a subsidiary of the charity Turn2us and operates eight care homes across England.
