Coffee Lush tip jar raises £300 for GWH children’s ward
The money was collected through a charity tip jar and donated to Brighter Futures and the children’s ward at Great Western Hospital (GWH).
Funds delivered more than £300 worth of gifts for use by the ward’s play therapist, helping to bring ‘comfort, distraction and happiness’ to young patients and their families during difficult times.
Scott Holden, co-owner of Coffee Lush, said: “This week, thanks entirely to the people who walk through our doors every day, we delivered over £300 worth of gifts in support of Brighter Futures and the children’s ward at Great Western Hospital.
“This story isn’t really about Coffee Lush. It’s about a community of people who care.
“Every gift delivered has been made possible by customers buying a coffee, grabbing breakfast or lunch, meeting a friend, and choosing to leave something behind for someone they will never meet.”
Alongside the gifts, the team also delivered a selection of handmade Coffee Lush brownies for the hospital staff as a small thank you for everything they do.
Mr Holden said the donations were made possible by ‘hundreds of small acts of kindness’ through everyday tips and spare change, rather than a single fundraising event or large donation.
