Blenheim Palace launches programme for overseas students
The scheme aims to introduce visitors to English language and culture through storytelling and immersive workshops set within the historic estate.
Designed for both guided and self-led learning, the programme opens up Blenheim’s formal gardens, kitchen garden, Marlborough Maze and Rowse Honey Hive as part of a hands-on outdoor education experience.
According to a Blenheim Palace spokesperson: “The immersive environment gives students the chance to get exclusive behind the scenes access to the estate and the ability to practice English in a supported environment with knowledgeable guides.”
Workshops explore British History, British Aristocracy, the British Royal Family, European Royal Families and British Food.
A 45-minute English Vocabulary Tour through the State Rooms introduces common English words and British phrases and expressions.
Another workshop focuses on Winston Churchill’s links to Blenheim Palace and WWII in Britain.
It is held in the MI5 room, where Churchill worked during the conflict. The programme offers four experience levels.
The Discover at Your Own Pace option supports a self-led visit with specially designed resources, while the Guided Learning Experience adds a workshop and guided tour supported by an expert-led team.
The Comprehensive Experience includes a packed lunch, and the Immersive Experience offers a full enriched day of learning with hot catering.
Catering options feature traditional English sandwiches and hot meals.
It operates a cashless system in all areas across the site.
