Aaron Ramsey’s Oxford United set for transfer embargo
According to Tom Burrows of The Athletic , the U’s are set to be prevented from registering new players until the issue is resolved.
The problem relates to League One’s Salary Cost Management Protocol (SCMP) where clubs must demonstrate they can ‘fund their planned player expenditure and afford their playing budget’ before the start of the new season.

The embargo comes two weeks after the arrival of former Premier League and Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey as United’s new head coach with the club currently beginning pre-season and preparations for the upcoming League One campaign.

Ramsey replaced Matt Bloomfield who was in charge last season when the Yellows suffered relegation from the Championship.
United have signed one player this summer in centre back Frankie Kent on a free transfer after he left Scottish club Heart of Midlothian at the end of last season.
The U’s have been linked to a number of other names already this summer transfer window, many of whom are free agents, such as Oxford-born former Cheltenham Town winger Jordan Thomas and ex-Peterborough United star Archie Collins.
