Woodstock stone obelisk installed at Park View development
It will stand at the heart of the market square at the Park View development in Woodstock, soon to be known as Wincott Square.
The panels are being created by carvers Alex Waddell and Freya Morris.
The project is a collaboration between the Master Carvers Association, Blenheim Estate, Blenheim Estate Homes, Pye Homes, ADAM Architecture, and West Oxfordshire District Council, and features three hand-carved panels created by artists Alex Waddell and Freya Morris.
Blenheim Estate Homes said the designs embrace three themes which incorporate key elements of Blenheim Estate’s legacy principles – heritage and environment, building and community, inclusivity and togetherness.
A fourth lettering panel will complete the obelisk’s design.
ADAM Architecture is the master planner and architect for the Park View development.
The stone for the obelisk has been donated by Somerton-based Medusa Stonemasonry Limited, while the three carved panels and the lettering panel are gifts from Portland Stone Firms Ltd and made from Portland limestone.
Blenheim Estate Homes said: “Our vision is to be the lifeblood of the local economy, to enhance the lives of the people of Oxfordshire, to share this magnificent Palace and to conserve and protect it for future generations.”
It has a portfolio of residential, commercial and agricultural properties, as well as dedicated practices of forestry, farming and parkland management.
