Organised by Oxford Independent Authors (OxIA) in collaboration with the Wolvercote & Wytham Midsummer Festival, the event will take place on Sunday, June 28, from 10am to 4pm at Wolvercote Village Hall.

Launched last year, the one-day literary festivals aim to connect local communities with writers.

The festival will feature about 20 stalls with local authors, poets, publishers, and organisations.

OxIA is also launching a new Short Story Collection initiative.

Authors of all ages can submit their stories for inclusion in the collection, which will be displayed at the festival and published online.

The deadline for submissions is June 2.

The speaker programme for adults will include sessions on getting published, featuring Colin Wade, Steve Sheppard, Mary McClarey, and Andy Severn.

There will also be book launches and promotions by Charles Boundy, Cathy Wield, Steve Sheppard, and Peter Tickler.

In the afternoon, children can participate in workshops to encourage their interest in reading, writing, and illustrating stories.

Sessions include Step into the World of Story Writing, Creating Drawings for Stories, and a special story-time with children’s writer Molly Arbuthnott.

All activities are free, but spaces for talks and workshops are limited, so booking is advised via Ticket Source.
