Witney’s Wood Green 1972 year group to reunite at 70
It has been three decades since their last get-together, and organisers hope that former classmates who left the school in 1972 will gather to celebrate and reminisce on Friday, June 12.
It will be held at the Beekeepers pub in Witney and promises a night of relaxed drinks.
The event was organised by Denise Barkley, who said: “Every decade since we turned 40, we’ve said we should have a school reunion for all those who, like us, left Wood Green School aged 16 in 1972. But we never got round to it.
“But 70 is a big number that needs marking, so we finally set a date for a get-together – relaxed reunion drinks at the Beekeepers pub in Witney High Street, and we’re hoping for a really good turnout.
“It will be great to remember our 1970s school days with old school friends and hopefully they’ll bring along any school photos they can find too.
“I have really happy memories of Wood Green School.”
The reunion was organised as a joint effort by Ms Barkley and Sue Tedd (née Panons).
The event will begin at 6pm at The Beekeepers on Witney High Street.
