Thames Valley Police has said that there was an attempted break-in at Cozens Lane, Kingham, on Monday June 9 at 11am.

Police community support officer Lisa Lavington said: “We are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or who noticed any suspicious individuals, vehicles, or unusual activity, to come forward with any information that could assist.

“Even seemingly minor details may be helpful. If you have CCTV, doorbell camera footage, dashcam recordings, or witnessed anything out of the ordinary around that time, please report it to the police and/or contact the relevant resident directly if appropriate. ”

Following the attempted break-in the force has issued a warning on how to “deter criminal opportunists”.

This includes ensuring all doors and windows are locked when leaving a home, and to keep valuables out of sight from windows.

External lighting should be used, as should a video doorbell, and hedges and shrubs should be trimmed to maintain visibility around entry points.

Trusted neighbours can be asked to keep an eye on your home when you are away and serial numbers and valuable items should be recorded or photographer.

PCSO Lavington added: “If you witness suspicious activity, do not approach individuals yourself. If a crime is in progress or there is an immediate risk to safety, call 999.”
