The suspect’s hiding place plan was then foiled by his own grandmother, who he unlocked the door for, which inadvertently allowed the police to arrest him.
He remains in custody while Thames Valley Police alerted locals to the news via a statement issued on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesperson for the force said: “PCs Dollery and Woolley spotted a male in Henley who was wanted on suspicion of a domestic-related assault today.
“The male fled into the house and locked the officers out.
“However, he had to open the door to let his nan back in, so was promptly arrested and taken to custody.”
