Volkswagen driver, 70s, ‘flashes’ Oxford Waitrose shoppers

Thames Valley Police said the ‘exposure incident’ happened at the Waitrose car park on Botley Road at around 11am on Thursday, March 19.

According to the police, the man got out of his blue Volkswagen Golf, went to the front of his car and exposed himself.

A spokesperson for police said: “Were you in Waitrose car park on Botley Road on March 19?

“You may be able to help us as we are appealing for information and witnesses after an exposure incident at around 11am that day.

“A man got out of his blue VW Golf S by the bicycle rack, went to the front of his car and exposed himself, hiding behind his car when people walked by. ”

Along with the appeal, police shared a description of the alleged perpetrator.

The spokesperson added: “The offender is described as white, approximately in his late 70s, around 5ft 5-6ins tall, of slim build, with short grey hair.

“He was wearing a light-coloured shirt with a darker jacket and darker coloured trousers.

“Anyone with information should call 101, make a report on our website or visit a police station, quoting the reference number 43260134872.”

The police added that the force takes all exposure offences “seriously” and encourage anyone who witnesses one to call 999.

The spokesperson said: “We apologise for not making this appeal sooner but hope the community can still support our investigation.”
