USA takeaway brand in £30,000 liquidation as shop shuts

Hit the Belly, based at Evans Yard in Bicester, has closed and is soon to be dissolved as a business.

Set up in 2020, the restaurant specialised in American food, offering milkshakes, cornbread, BBQ ribs, burgers and other typical US dishes.

Although, it had a physical premises in the heart of Bicester, Hit the Belly was also available via takeaway being listed on Deliveroo and Just Eat.

It is now listed as closed on the delivery sites as well as on Google, where it had a 4.6 rating based on 73 reviews.

This was in contrast to its Just Eat rating, which was 1.2 based on 86 reviews, although similar to its Deliveroo rating which was 1.2 based on 71 reviews.

In 2024, it logged an average number of three employees across the period.

On May 27, it was announced that the company would be voluntarily wound-up with liquidators appointed from the Business Helpline Group.

This came as its administrators reported debts of over £30,000 in a report filed on May 8.

This included £3,750 owed to Cherwell District Council and £16,000 to LCP Properties Limited, an investment and property management company.

In addition, the restaurant takeaway owed almost £6,000 to Metro Bank and money to loan providers IWOCA and YouLend.

The takeaway was approached for comment for the story.
