UK clothes brand returns to high street after all stores closed

Evans, the plus‑size womenswear label, is being rolled out into more than 50 branches of Yours Clothing across the UK and Ireland.

The move ends a six‑year absence from physical retail after Evans’ standalone shops shut in 2020 following the collapse of former owner Arcadia.

Since then, the brand has continued online only, selling direct to customers but without any fitting rooms or shop staff.

Under the new arrangement, Evans ranges will be sold in dedicated areas inside selected Yours stores, alongside the host chain’s own collections.

The concessions are expected to offer dresses, casualwear and occasion outfits aimed at plus‑size shoppers.

The deal is being driven by Evans’ current owners, who acquired the brand out of the Arcadia administration and have been looking for a way back onto the high street.

In Oxford, the return will be notable because Evans once ran a city‑centre shop before the nationwide closures.

That branch served local plus‑size customers who were left without a dedicated store when it shut.

At this stage, there has been no announcement of a new Evans outlet in Oxford itself.

Shoppers in the city will instead have to travel to the nearest Yours Clothing store carrying the concession if they want to buy the range in person.

Further locations are expected to be confirmed as the rollout continues.
