Two women arrested amid Oxfordshire police incident

During a busy week of action by Thames Valley Police’s Rural Crime Taskforce, officers detained two females on London Road in Wheatley.

This was on suspicion of making threats to cause criminal damage, obstructing police and public order offences, with enquiries into the incident ongoing.

In Oxford, a motorbike on false number plates was seized, and officers also recovered a quantity of cannabis and cash.

An investigation into the suspected drugs and vehicle offences is under way.

Elsewhere in Oxfordshire, an uninsured vehicle on false plates was seized in Arncott.

Police said the vehicle has not been claimed and is expected to be scrapped.

Across the wider Thames Valley area, the Rural Crime Taskforce has been patrolling rural communities, engaging with farmers and local businesses about crime and safety concerns.

Officers helped local response units with a range of incidents, including reported burglaries in progress, shoplifting, missing persons, debris in the road causing hazards and public order matters.

A stolen Triumph motorbike was recovered for its owner in Reading, and an investigation into the theft is under way.

Police also stopped and checked trailers and plant machinery to ensure they were not stolen.

Several people were searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act across the Thames Valley, with those found in possession of drugs dealt with in line with police procedures.
