Two Bicester Motion firms shortlisted for business awards

North South Wines, recently moved within the Technical Site from the Guard House to the larger Works Services Building (Building 144), is a finalist in two categories.

The wine distributor and importer is vying for the Large Business Award, which was won by Bicester Motion in 2025.

Known as the UK’s first B Corp wine distributor and importer, the company is also nominated for the Sustainable Business Award due to its environmental achievements.

Another Bicester Motion specialist, StarterMotor, is in the running for the Charity and Community Award category.

StarterMotor, managed by Steve Cootes and Gracie Haddon, focuses on introducing the younger generation to opportunities within the automotive sector.

The awards ceremony will be held at The Chesterton Hotel in Bicester on Friday, September 18.

Bicester Motion, started in 2013, is a 444-acre site developed from a former WW2 RAF Bicester Bomber Training Station.

Restored for modern business use, the site is renowned for fostering a unique ecosystem of historic automotive specialist businesses.

The site now hosts a range of businesses within The Command Works, including the governing body of UK motor sport, a synthetic fuel manufacturer, and an international rally operator.

The development of Bicester Motion continues, with The Ranges set to welcome YASA, a Mercedes-Benz subsidiary, in 2026.
