TV legend camped in King Charles’s Cotswolds garden
The famed cook was a judge on the show whilst it was broadcast on the BBC between 2010 and 2016 before it left for Channel 4.
She has lived in the town of Henley, in the south of Oxfordshire, with her husband, Paul Hunnings, since 2019.

Now, the 91-year-old has revealed that she once camped out in the garden of Highgrove House, over the Oxfordshire border in the Cotswolds.
GB News’ Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker was recently speaking to the baking icon, and among the topics spoken about was the royal residence.
The Gloucestershire home was purchased by the then-Prince in 1980, and over more than four decades, he has carefully transformed its grounds into renowned, sustainable, organic gardens.

Mr Walker wrote: “Long before King Charles acquired the estate, Dame Mary and a friend were permitted to camp in the grounds in the early 1950s.
“Dame Mary remarked that the bathtub was gigantic and brass, and needed a heavy plunger to operate the drain.
“She wondered whether the now King and Queen still own the luxury item, and whether the tub is still in use today.”
