The Radley Lakes Trust has closed off an area next to the ‘beach’ part of Thrupp Lake.

Metal objects have been found in the ground and although the trust did not say what they are, they need to be removed.

A spokesman said: “Please be aware that some old metal objects are currently exposed next to the ‘beach’ area at Thrupp Lake.

“They have been cordoned off for now and further excavation will take place over the next week to remove the items.

“Please keep away from the area as there could be further items just below the surface.”

The land around Thrupp Lake is open to the public, as is the Barton Fields Nature Reserve.
