Theft warning as probe launched into Cotswolds burglary

Thames Valley Police has begun an investigation into a burglary at Wooton End in Stonesfield, in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, which happened between 1am and 1.45am today (Tuesday, March 31).

A spokesperson for the police said: “We are appealing to local residents for any information, CCTV, Ring doorbell footage, or dashcam recordings from around this time that may assist with the investigation.

“Even the smallest detail could be crucial.

“It is possible that the thieves parked in the car park of the Village Hall / Social Club area and jumped into the rear gardens of Wooton End.

“If you live in the surrounding area, please check your security footage for any unusual activity, unfamiliar vehicles, or people around those times.”

People with information are asked to contact police on 101 and quote reference number 43260156329.

Alongside this appeal the force has warned the Oxfordshire public of further thefts while providing security advice.

This includes to store car keys in a Faraday pouch to block relay attacks, avoid leaving them near doors and windows and to park strategically including in a well-lit area or garage.

If possible they advise you should block your vehicle in with another car and install CCTV or a Video Doorbell.

“Thank you for helping to keep our community safe,” the spokesperson added.
