The £3.99 Aldi sangria shoppers say looks perfect for summer

The supermarket’s latest collection includes everything from paella rice and gazpacho to tapas-style snacks and a sparkling sangria-inspired drink designed for warm evenings and garden parties.

And with prices starting from just 59p, the range is expected to attract bargain hunters looking for affordable summer food ideas without booking a flight abroad.

Leading the launch is Aldi’s new Baron Amarillo Sangria Frizzante, priced at £3.99.

Inspired by Spain’s Sangria de Cava, the sparkling summer drink combines red wine with fruity orange and lemon flavours.

Aldi says it is designed to be served chilled over ice with orange slices for a “Spanish-style summer serve”.

The launch arrives just as temperatures begin rising across the UK – and shoppers are already comparing it to holiday drinks usually found abroad.

Supermarkets have increasingly expanded Mediterranean-inspired food ranges as shoppers look for affordable ways to recreate holiday meals at home.

The combination of low prices, easy sharing foods and summer drinks has become especially popular during warmer months.

Aldi says the new range is designed to help shoppers create their own “tapas-style summer spread” without spending heavily.

The range arrives as budget-conscious shoppers continue searching for lower-cost alternatives to eating out and overseas travel.

With sangria, tapas-style snacks and Spanish-inspired meals all launching together, Aldi appears to be targeting summer entertaining season directly.

And because many Aldi special ranges are only available while stocks last, some shoppers are already expecting the collection to sell quickly.
