Smoke seen as huge fire breaks out at Didcot landfill site
Smoke can be seen billowing from a fire at the Didcot landfill site.
Black smoke could be seen clearly from miles around.

In a Facebook post, Cllr Ian Snowdon, who represents Didcot, said: “A large fire has broken out at the Didcot landfill site this evening, with emergency services currently on scene.
“Please avoid the area and keep clear of emergency services while they deal with the incident.”
In a Facebook post, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are attending an incident at Appleford Sidings, Sutton Courtney, Abingdon, which has caused a smoke plume to develop. Our current advice is to go in doors and close windows and doors, consider turning off air-conditioning if you are located close to the incident.”
