The legendary band’s frontman had been dating choreographer Melanie Hamrick for over a decade.

It was revealed last April in a Paris Match interview with the former ballerina that the rock icon proposed “two or three years ago”.

She added that while the engagement has been in place for a while, she does not know if they will actually tie the knot.

Ms Hamrick said: “Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not. We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything.

“We try to support each other, be there for each other, and make sure everyone is happy. That’s all that matters to me and all I strive for.”

Mr Jagger met his partner while touring with the Stones, and the pair have been together since 2014.

This comes as the couple were in Oxford on Sunday (June 7), visiting Oxford University’s Oriel College for Evensong.

Sir Mick dined with students before joining a small group at The Half Moon pub in St Clement’s later on in the evening.

It was here that the 82-year-old sang the folk song Handsome Molly with a local Irish band and Stones keyboard player Matt Clifford to stunned pubgoers.

A statement from Oriel College today (Wednesday, June 10) said: “Sir Mick Jagger and partner Melanie Hamrick visited Oriel College on Sunday.

“As guests of the Provost and Lady Mendoza, Mick joined students at Evensong and dined at High Table.

“After dinner and drinks in the SCR, a small group went off to the pub where Mick gave an impromptu performance with Rolling Stones keyboard player Matt Clifford and Oriel Politics academic Robert Cheah.”
