Rewley Road Fire Station thanks public for attending lessons
The event took place at Port Meadow on Thursday, May 7, where Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service delivered safety demonstrations and shared advice on staying safe near open water.
It aligned with nationwide efforts to reduce water-related incidents.
A spokesperson for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Thanks to everyone who joined Red Watch at Port Meadow this afternoon to learn about Water Safety & see our firefighters carrying out rescue demonstrations.
“We will look to do a few more of these days as it starts to get warmer and busier, so keep a look out on here if you want to join us next time.”
Drowning Prevention Week, led by the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK), takes place this year from June 13 to 20.
The campaign aims to equip children and young people with life-saving knowledge.
