With displays held across the UK throughout the year, the iconic Red Arrows display team have cemented themselves into the country’s consciousness.

Thousands put their eyes to the sky to witness the red, white and blue smoke overhead when the red Hawk T1s fly over.

And on May 29, people in Oxfordshire did just that as the famous nine went over Banbury and parts of West Oxfordshire including Brize Norton.

The team took off from RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire at 1.48pm and landed at Exeter at 2.30pm.

They flew over Banbury just at around 2.10pm before going over Enstone, Charlbury, Brize Norton, Faringdon and continuing south west.

Other people in Wiltshire, Dorset and Devon were also treated to the display – which over Brize Norton was displaying the iconic red, white and blue smoke.

Two Eurofighter Typhoons were also seen, and heard, overhead.

The fly-by was captured by the Oxford Mail Camera Club member Alicia James.

After touching down at Exeter, the Red Arrows are expected to refuel and prepare for their evening appearance over Torbay, where they are due to perform at the English Riviera Airshow.

They are then scheduled to return to Exeter Airport following the display, rounding off a busy day of flying for the world-famous aerobatic team.
