Reading submit offer for Oxford United target Archie Collins
The U’s are amongst a host of Championship and League One clubs interested in signing the ex-Posh midfielder who left the club this summer after not renewing his contract.
Aaron Ramsey’s Oxford have brought in one new face this summer in former Hearts defender Frankie Kent on a free transfer and are looking to continue to bolster the squad by getting deals done.
However, according to reporter Alan Nixon, Reading have put forward a proposal to sign the 26-year-old who is apparently weighing up his options.

Millwall, Portsmouth, Watford, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday are all also keen to secure the services of the highly-rated midfielder.
Collins has made 159 appearances for the Posh across three years and proved himself to be a capable midfielder in the EFL.

Last season was his most prolific since making the switch from Exeter City in 2023 – with the former Exeter City man providing 10 goal contributions.
Oxford reportedly remain interested in the former Posh star.
Collins spent the first six years of his career at Exeter with two loan spells to Weston-super-Mare and Dorchester Town respectively before he made the switch to Cambridgeshire in 2023.
It will be intriguing to see whether the English midfielder opts to take the potential step up to the second tier or to aim for possibly more game time at a third tier side for the 2026/27 season.
