Pupils at science school pick up A-level results

Students at UTC Oxfordshire collected their results this morning alongside friends, family and staff, reflecting on hard work, determination and personal growth.

The day was filled with celebration as students secured places on university courses, apprenticeship programmes and other post-18 destinations.

Emma Reynolds, headteacher of the University Technical College, said: “Today’s results are a fantastic achievement for our students and staff and we want to recognise the professionalism, resilience and creativity they have shown throughout their studies.

“As a specialist STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) school, we’re proud of the technical and academic pathways we offer through A-levels, BTECs and AAQs.

“Despite challenges this year, particularly within engineering, students have excelled and are progressing to university, higher apprenticeships, employment or other exciting opportunities. They leave us with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in the next stage of their journey.

“These outcomes show the power of combining high-quality teaching with meaningful employer engagement, and we welcome the Government’s continued focus on technical education as a route to addressing future skills needs.

We wish them every success in the future and look forward to hearing about all they go on to achieve.”

UTC Oxfordshire first opened in 2015. The technical college was opened by Professor Brian Cox to serve students aged 14 to 19 specialising in science and engineering
