Probe launched as Oxford woman ‘assaulted’ in Vauxhall Astra

Thames Valley Police has said the incident happened in Kendall Crescent, Cutteslowe between 10pm and 11.30pm on Thursday, August 27.

The woman, in her 30s, was reportedly threatened and assaulted by someone known to her inside her blue Vauxhall Astra car before being assaulted again on the street.

Investigating officer detective constable Michael Lewis said: “I am appealing to anybody who was in the Kendall Crescent area between 10pm and 11.30pm on Thursday evening and may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.

“We believe that members of the public may have witnessed part of the assault and would urge them to get in touch with us.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV, doorbell camera, dash-cam or mobile phone footage from the area during this time.

“Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could assist our investigation.”

The woman sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
