A spokesperson said: “PCSOs received a report of two males seen using cameras near a splash park, understandably raising concerns given the proximity to children.
“We attended promptly and spoke with both individuals.”
However upon talking to the men it turned out they were photographing wildlife, specifically red kites in the area.

“They even shared some fantastic photos they had taken,” the spokesperson added, “which were genuinely impressive”.
They continued: “We completely understand why this situation caused alarm, and we’re grateful it was reported.
“At the same time, we’re pleased this was a misunderstanding, and that a calm, professional conversation led to reassurance for all involved.”

In addition, the team updated that they had attended a ‘Have Your Say’ event at a Waitrose in Wallingford.
The spokesperson said: “PCSOs were on hand to speak with members of the public, discuss any concerns, and offer reassurance.
“These interactions may seem small, but they are a key part of neighbourhood policing – building relationships, gathering local insight, and ensuring we remain approachable and visible.”
