Police issue alert warning Oxfordshire to ‘stay vigilant’

Thames Valley Police officers have been made aware of fake banknotes circulating around Banbury.

In a community alert issued this afternoon (Tuesday, March 24), the force warned householders to “stay vigilant”.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “We’re asking all local businesses, shops, and community members to stay vigilant.

“You can carefully check any notes you receive, use note‑checking tools if you have them, and report any suspicious incidents or counterfeit notes through the Thames Valley Police website online or 101.

“Your awareness helps protect our local businesses and keeps our community safe. Please share this post to spread the word.”
