Paul Hollywood’s Bake Off show ‘cancelled’ after four series

Mr Hollywood had been serving as a judge on The Great American Baking Show, the American version of the popular baking competition, alongside Dame Prue Leith.

According to industry publication Broadcast, the series has been cancelled after four seasons on streaming platform Roku.

The reported cancellation brings an end to the latest chapter of the programme, which first launched in the United States in 2015 before moving from ABC to Roku in 2022.

Mr Hollywood has been a judge on the Great British Bake Off since the show’s debut in 2010.

He is currently filming the latest series of the Channel 4 programme alongside Oxford University graduate Nigella Lawson, who joined the judging panel following Dame Prue’s departure from the UK show.

The reported axing of the American series has a number of local links for readers in Oxfordshire and the surrounding area.

Dame Prue, who lives in the Cotswolds, appeared alongside Mr Hollywood on the US programme and was one of its best-known judges.

Former judge Dame Mary Berry, who lives in Henley-on-Thames, also featured on the American version during its earlier years.

Over the course of its run, the show welcomed a range of presenters and judges, including Spice Girl Emma Bunton and actress Nia Vardalos.

The series was most recently hosted by actors Casey Wilson and Andrew Rannells.

Neither Roku nor production company Love Productions had publicly confirmed the cancellation at the time the reports emerged, with both organisations approached for comment.
