Oxfordshire residents warned as Abingdon road to close
Oxfordshire County Council has announced that a section of Virginia Way in Abingdon will be shut around the clock from June 15 to June 17, to allow Thames Water to carry out the works.
Access will be maintained for residents during the closure.
Abingdon-on-Thames Town Council said in a Facebook statement: “A temporary Notice is being made by Oxfordshire County Council to implement the temporary restriction and will operate from 15 June 2026 up to and including 17 June 2026.
“This is a 24 hour daily road closure. With access to be maintained for residents.”
The works are being carried out under a temporary Traffic Regulation Notice as part of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Notices for urgent works can last up to five consecutive days only.
