Oxfordshire kebab shop gets zero-star food hygiene rating
Kebanos, in Pioneer Square in Bicester, serves salad combinations with their meats and their signature Kebanos sauces.
The business was visited by Oxford City Council’s Environmental Health team on Thursday, April 23.
Stating that ‘major improvement’ was necessary, inspectors handed the eatery a zero-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
One key issue identified in the latest inspection was the management of food safety, meaning the systems in place to ensure food served is safe to eat, which were deemed to require ‘major improvement’.
Inspectors said major improvement was necessary for the hygienic food handling, which includes preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage.
However, improvement was still necessary for the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building.

This means having the appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control.
The Mediterranean restaurant has a signature dish, the Kebanos classic kebabs and wraps, which have become an instant hit among locals and tourists alike.
The eatery has received mixed reviews on Tripadvisor with some hailing it as the “best kebab in town” and a “tasty, healthy dinner at a great price”.
Meanwhile others have criticised the restaurant as “always something wrong with kebanos”, whilst the “food is very good and tasty but always something wrong with the order”.
