Oxfordshire drivers issued weather warning as multiple roads affected

Heavy fog has descended on the county’s roads this morning (Friday, March 20), having a negative impact on visibility.

A weather alert has been published by Oxon Travel, with the page warning motorists of the adverse conditions.

The statement said: “Please be aware of Fog covering many roads across Oxfordshire this morning. Please take care while travelling.”

A further statement from the Met Office added: “Fog can particularly affect road and air travel due to reduced visibility.

“According to the Highway Code, headlights should be used when visibility is below 100 metres.

“Before setting off on a foggy journey, drivers should make sure their lights – especially fog lights – are working properly.”
