Oxfordshire criminals arrested and cars seized in crackdown

Two stolen vehicles with false plates were also seized in Oxford in the past week, the team said in its update on progress.

Meanwhile, a man was arrested near Aston Rowant, South Oxfordshire, after a vehicle stop revealed he had failed to appear at court.

Officers also attended the 999 Day in Witney, where they discussed rural crime with the community.

Reports of hare coursing have led to increased patrols in certain areas.

Several people across the Thames Valley area were searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act, and those found in possession of drugs were dealt with accordingly.

The task force urges the public to report any suspicious activity in rural areas on 101, or 999 in emergencies.

They emphasised the importance of community information in tackling rural crime, such as theft, poaching, or fly-tipping.

They said: “Have you got information about someone involved in rural crime?

“Whether it’s theft, poaching, fly-tipping or another offence, even a small piece of information could help us build the bigger picture.”

The task force also stated that any information, no matter how small, could help in combating these crimes.
