The Abingdon shop based at Peachcroft retail park was shut for the last time on Sunday, April 12 having opened in 1999.

The store was first opened to replace the Co-Op that had been there serving customers the years prior.

While the shop has now closed, Bradford-based supermarket Morrisons will be moving in straight away.

The shop will become one of the supermarket’s ‘Daily’ convenience stores and is expected to reopen on Thursday, April 23.

Peachcroft’s shop will be the first Morrisons in Abingdon. Other Daily convenience stores have recently opened in Botley, Blackbird Leys, Bicester, Wallingford and Thame.

Morrisons has full-size supermarkets in Banbury and Carterton.
