Oxford Westgate changes pictured after £440m upgrade
Our photo of the Westgate Centre shows the entrance opposite Bonn Square, which remained the same until the £440m upgrade in 2017.
The revamp, adding more than 100 new shops and a rooftop terrace, featuring restaurants, completely transformed the centre, and the entrance now looks very different.

The John Lewis department store arrived as the centre’s anchor store in 2017.
Other images we have selected from the 1990s include a visit from Prince Charles to Radcliffe Square, naval pilots watching Top Gun at a cinema in Oxford, and folk band Magpie Lane performing at the Towersey Festival.
There was also a dog show in Burford, and a photo of headteacher Richard Jones at Hagbourne Primary School near Didcot.
