Oxford United smash record for League One season tickets
The previous season ticket sales record for the third tier was approximately 5,000, a number which has been smashed already this summer since going on general sale.
6,500 tickets have already been sold which is an impressive statement of backing from supporters after last season’s relegation from the Championship.
The club’s head of revenue, Lee Barton, said: “Reaching 6,500 season ticket sales at this stage is a fantastic achievement and a clear demonstration of the passion and loyalty of our supporters. Breaking our previous League One record by such a margin is something everyone connected with Oxford United can be proud of. The support we receive from our fans makes a real difference, and we’d like to thank them for backing us in such great numbers as we head into the 2026/27 season.”

Season tickets for the upcoming season are capped at 7,000, with the final 500 currently on general sale.
Oxford head into pre-season currently without a head coach after sacking Matt Bloomfield last Saturday.
Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is someone the club is impressed by, the Oxford Mail understands, United having previously met with the 35-year-old.
Ramsey also sits at the top of the bookmakers’ favourites.
