Oxford United player ratings after late MK Dons draw

After taking the lead through Mark Harris, Aaron Ramsey’s Yellows fell behind before half time thanks to Charlie Goode and Aaron Collins’ headers for the visitors.

A late flurry of chances eventually saw United snatch a point, Ciaron Brown bagging an equaliser in the 95th minute.

Here is how we rated the team after the draw…

Jamie Cumming – 5.5

Similarly to last week’s defeat to Leyton Orient, his distribution and positioning left a bit to be desired, the second header looping over his head and over the line.

Brodie Spencer (Kioso 77′) – 6.5

Was really good going forward in the first half, finding space and whipping in crosses.

Beaten a couple of times on the back foot.

Sam Long – 5.5

The game was probably slightly too physical for his liking, more suited to Michal Helik who was on the bench.

Found it tricky in the air against the Dons’ physicality.

Ciaron Brown – 7.5

Good on the ball for the most part and looks calm playing under pressure.

Took up a brilliant position to stab home the late equaliser.

Jack Currie – 6

Again, was up against a very physical counterpart in Marvin Ekpiteta and was not in the game as much as he would have liked.

Jamie McDonnell (O’Donkor 64′) – 5.5

Some misplaced passes and a difficult game for both him and midfield partner Brannagan.

Cameron Brannagan – 6.5

One or two uncharacteristic stray passes as the U’s were frustrated, but created some good chances in the second half.

Aidomo Emakhu – 6

Was non-existent in the first half but was much better in the second with some decent shots and crosses, beating his man well on a couple of occasions.

You can tell the right side is not his preference, though.

Tyler Goodrham – 6

Did not receive the ball as much as he would have liked due to MK crowding the midfield but was neat on the turn.

Siriki Dembele (Missanga 78′) – 5.5

Not a terrible showing but gave the ball away for the Dons’ second goal; admittedly he was short of options in his own box.

Good energy and endeavour, however.

Mark Harris – 7

Great positioning at many points, especially for his goal, and got some good shots off.

Substitutes:

Gatlin O’Donkor – 7.5

His physicality was much needed and got the assist for Brown’s equaliser.

Peter Kioso – 6

Nothing too impressive but helped apply the pressure late on.

Mo Missanga – 7

Time to get excited.

The 17-year-old played with no fear and was brilliant on the left flank, getting crosses and shots of and causing mayhem for the defenders.
