Oxford Health NHS launches Count Me In research project

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has launched a new scheme called Count Me In, designed to inform eligible individuals about research studies with the aim of creating a fairer and more inclusive approach to research participation.

Those who opt in may be contacted about relevant studies, but can change their mind at any time without it affecting their care.

Professor Andrea Cipriani, director of the NIHR Clinical Research Facility at Oxford Health and associate director of research and development at the trust, said: “Count Me In is about giving people clear, fair opportunities to hear about research, while ensuring choice and respect remain at the centre of everything we do.”

Research supported by Count Me In could lead to improvements in mental health and community services by testing new approaches and treatments, enhancing care, and helping to identify what works best for patients.

The trust emphasised that participation in research is always voluntary.

Count Me In simply makes it easier for people to find out about studies that might interest them, so they can make an informed decision.
