Oxford couple launch wellness brand from their kitchen

Oxford-based founders of NEWROAD 30, Catherine Hurley Arbibe and Alain Arbibe, developed the company’s whole-food powder in their kitchen before launching it commercially.

The powder, consisting of 30 freeze-dried fruits, vegetables, and pulses, is designed to support gut health by nurturing a balanced microbiome.

Mrs Hurley Arbibe said: “Initially it wasn’t a business idea at all – it began as my own journey exploring how fruit and vegetables could support the gut microbiome.”

The couple now operate from the Grassroots Innovation Centre in Oxford, where they’ve found both space and community support.

Mr Arbibe said: “At Grassroots you can walk into the kitchen to make a coffee and there’s always someone who understands what you’re going through, which is incredibly helpful.”

NEWROAD 30 is sold through an e-commerce platform and stocked at outlets including Daylesford Organic, John Bell & Croyden, and W-Wellness.

The brand has also partnered with chocolatier William Curley and Marylebone’s Avobar.

Mr Arbibe said: “We’re looking for investors who understand the world of luxury and wellness to help us scale.”

The company is exploring SEIS and EIS schemes for early-stage backers.

Mr Arbibe said: “Offering our product to entire teams in their kitchens and breakout areas could be a very natural fit.

“These are environments where energy and focus matter enormously, it’s definitely an exciting time and we’re looking forward to reaching new audiences and sharing our passion for maximising gut-health.”
