Oaklands School students reach bronze level ASDAN programme

Eliza, Isaiah, Josh, and Leigha from Ash class at Oaklands School achieved the bronze level in the ASDAN Personal Development Programme, which supports young people in building personal, social, and employability skills through structured activities.

The programme helps students gain nationally recognised qualifications by encouraging them to complete challenges that boost confidence, independence, and experiences.

Georgios Chatzakis, executive headteacher at Oaklands School, said: “This is a tremendous accomplishment for Eliza, Isaiah, Josh and Leigha and everyone in the Oaklands family is so happy and pleased about their marvellous achievements.

“The students in our upper school are fantastic role models for our younger pupils, and their success shows just what can be achieved through hard work, perseverance, determination and an eagerness to learn.”

The four students completed 60 hours of work across 12 different categories.

Pupils shared positive feedback about the experience, describing the programme as ‘very fun’ and saying it helped them develop creativity and independence.

One of the students said: “ASDAN is very fun. I get to do lots of creative things.”

Another said: “ASDAN has improved my confidence to work more independently.”

The school also thanked the Ash Team for their support, naming class teacher Chris Hoggarth, high-level teaching assistant Rhys Tyler, and assistants Claire Bailey and Olivia Mills.
